The Gravel Index
US gravel races ranked by the numbers: climbing, steepness, distance, entry fees and how hard they are to get into. Every list is built from the course stats and prices organizers publish. If a race hasn't published a number, it's left off the list. We never guess.

How the Gravel Index works
- Course stats (distance and climbing) come from each race's published route, mostly the 2026 edition. Each race page lists the sources.
- Climbing per mile is the published climbing divided by the published distance, using the race's longest course of 20 mi or more.
- Entry fees come from organizer and registration pages and are labeled with their year. Many races raise prices closer to race day.
- Rounded figures ("about 6,000 ft") are ranked by the number given and shown as published.
