The course
The APEX's Queen of the Canyons is a huge gravel day from Colorado Springs along the Gold Belt Tour: up historic Gold Camp Road, down Shelf Road to Cañon City, then back up Phantom Canyon to Victor before returning to town. Only three sections are timed, so you can stop and regroup between them, but there's a time cut in Cañon City. Shorter Mini Majesty and non-competitive Mini-Mini options stick to Gold Camp Road.
- Queen of the Canyons: 135 mi · 11,000+ ft of climbing · 4 rest stops + 2 water stops. 3 timed sections; ~11 mph needed to make the Cañon City cut.
- Mini Majesty: 65 mi · 1 aid station + water stops. Out-and-back on Gold Camp Road; 2 timed sections.
- Mini-Mini Majesty: 25 mi. Non-competitive.
